By The Bay / Fabulous Coffee Drinks and Much More

Sometimes Humboldt County seems a bit claustrophic... like you cannot really escape everyone and everything. It sounds silly because it is known for being rural and full of wilderness spots, but let's face it... it is made up of small towns upon small towns and sometimes I do not really find it relaxing. However, when I step out at the new little coffee shop and can smell the ocean and hear the seagulls and then step onto the quiet deck out back of Elizabeth Warren's Boat House Espresso Bar, I feel like I am in another country and another spot wild and cozy at the same time.

Grand Opening for the Boat House Espresso Bar Soon!!

Coming soon is the grand opening but the Boat House has been operating for the summer already so....

When the sun is shining you want to grab your snack and drink and go sit next to the boats out back. You can really feel the bay and enjoy the sounds of gulls and such.

This a perfect setting for relaxing and reflecting.

Indulge and take a breath at the Boat House deck!

Styling at the Boat House Espresso Bar !! Hurrah !

On any given morning Humboldt County can cover every weather pattern that seems to exist. So a cup of good coffee offered inside and outside can really help the mood. But nothing is nicer than the offer of good hot (or cold) coffee (or teas etc) that are presented next to the Humboldt Bay and more importantly right on an inland water way that flows just off the deck of this cool sweet little cafĂ© that my best friends just opened.
Elizabeth is the director of this show most of the time and she has great credentials and great taste. Her history covers a little bit of every talent but in this instance the most important would be years of experience in that capital town of Sacramento. I was born there so I know how those flat landers need the beauty of Humboldt.
So Elizabeth has found and created the nicest little haven by the bay. It is small and cozy inside with nice outdoor views in the back. She even sells beautifully grown local plants for the gardener that just must have a cup of joe before going back to the garden....
Hard work and devotion went into bringing the perfect facelift to this little eatery. Which is really a deli that offers morning waffles, bagels, pastries to name a few.
At lunch she has extended the cases to hold just about everything. International or not the food is healthy and fresh and in most cases produced in Humboldt County. Sushi, Pizza, Hot Dogs..
The list is long but I must say the Hagen Daas freezer is loaded with one of several options for desserts.

Well, I could go on and on. But I think you should just stop by..., like I do whenever I can. It is only 1 minute off the freeway at the King Salmon Exit.
Before I write anymore I am going to get these few photos up and then keep you posted on the happenings there...
